An Ordinary member is a company which develops, produces and markets in Europe hardware or software products or services in the field of information technology or telecommunications used to process digital information for business, scientific, control, communication or other similar purposes (see Bylaws, 3.8).
An Associate member is a company which has interest and experience in matters related to one or more of the Technical Committees of the Association, but does not qualify as an Ordinary Member (see Bylaws, 3.9).
An SME member is a company which has interests similar to those of Ordinary or Associate Members, and has an annual turnover of less than one hundred million Swiss Francs (see Bylaws, 3.10).
ECMA is open, at technical level, to experts from organizations not qualifying for formal membership, e.g. non-profit organizations, user organizations, Administrations, research institutes, universities, etc.
